Lady Ganga

Nilza’s Story

A world record. A health clinic. A life saved.

The Mission

Michele Baldwin, a 45-year-old mother of three diagnosed with late-stage cervical cancer, paddleboarded over 700 miles down the River Ganga in India — breaking a world record and spreading awareness about the disease.

A six-minute version of her story was shown to women in a remote Himalayan village in Ladakh.

It inspired them to visit a health clinic — where a precancerous lesion was found and removed from a woman named Nilza, saving her life.
